Product Performance
Samarium oxide, light yellow powder, easily deliquescent, insoluble in water, soluble in inorganic acid. Samarium oxide is a slightly yellowish white powder in two crystal systems, body-centered cubic or monoclinic. The chemical properties of rare earth oxides are similar, and samarium oxide is no exception, but its magnetic moment is different from other oxides. It is 1.45M·B, density 8.347g/cm3, melting point 2262℃, insoluble in water, soluble in acid, The air absorbs carbon dioxide and water. It can be used as an additive for luminescent glass that absorbs infrared rays, as a coating in photosensitive materials, as well as making samarium permanent magnet materials and producing metal samarium, etc..
Application of Samarium Oxide powder:
Metal rhenium, pigment, catalyst, capacitor ceramic, etc.
Uses in glass, phosphors, lasers, and thermoelectric devices. Calcium chloride crystals treated with samarium have been employed in lasers which produce beams of light intense enough to burn metal or bounce off the moon.
Storage conditions:
Samarium Oxide powder should be sealed and stored in a dry and cool environment. It should not be exposed to the air for a long time, to prevent agglomeration due to moisture, affecting the dispersion performance and use effect, and should avoid heavy pressure, do not contact with oxidant, and transport according to ordinary goods.
