Application of carbon nanotube CNTs:
Carbon nanotubes (CNT) have excellent strength and stiffness. The advantages of carbon nanotubes can be applied to attractive prospects in the field of macro-engineering. However, a large number of studies have found that because the CNT only determines its size as discontinuous fibers in the matrix, and the load transfer between the CNT and the substrate is adversely affected. Therefore, a new CNT application method is proposed, that is, a multi-scale hybrid composite material composed of CNT, a traditional continuous fiber and a matrix, to effectively utilize the excellent mechanical properties of CNT. This material is called CNT-reinforced multi-scale matrix hybrid composite material.
CNT reinforced matrix, a multi-scale hybrid laminate made of composite materials, has both excellent fiber-led mechanical properties and good mechanical properties. The dominant matrix is suitable for more frequent interlayer loads and impact loads. Environment, such as the environment where the aerospace vehicle is loaded; and applying the composite material to some large holes in the laminated structure helps to improve the strength and fatigue life of the surrounding holes, thereby improving the structure and safety of the connection. Therefore, the carbon fiber/CNT reinforced multi-scale hybrid composite matrix has become a new frontier in the field of materials research.
